Rudolph Chesterfield Ferron was born on August 23, 1922 to Vertie Mignott and John Ferron in St. Anne, Jamaica. He studied carpentry and cabinet making in Jamaica, ultimately becoming a master craftsman and owning his own furniture business. Seeking better opportunities, he migrated to England in 1951, where he worked at a major furniture company. There he met and fell in love with Daphne in 1952. They became married in 1953.

After living some years in England, he and his family migrated to Canada. Once there, he continued his calling as a master carpenter. He also attended Bathurds College in the evenings for automotive studies so that he could work on his cars in his spare time.

Rudolph was a perfectionist that was good at everything he did and a master at woodworking, which he enjoyed the most. He even created wood work masterpieces made entirely of precision, hand- cut pieces of differing types of very thin wood, painstakingly placed together to depict different landscapes that entailed the finest of details. He also enjoyed watching baseball and spending time with family.

Rudolph was a patient kind and generous man who was loved by everyone. He leaves behind his wife, Daphne, of 64 years; his children Winston Orville Ferron of Kingston, Jamaica; Chesterfield Ferron of London, England; Carol Ferron-Smith of Wolverhampton, England; Claudette Ferron of Potomac, MD; Paula English of Baltimore, MD; 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends, to include his beloved caretaker, Darrick Wilmer.
